Happy Thoughts

Being happy doesn’t mean that everything is perfect. It means that you’ve decided to look beyond the imperfections. ~Author unknown

A few things that made me smile this week:

~This morning’s breakfast: toast with avocado and heirloom tomato slices~

~Currently reading, full of good stuff~

~ Crisp summer salad with local veggies~

~Friday’s low-key date night: homemade popcorn and a movie~

~A fresh batch of pesto~

~Garlic breath is so worth it~

I’m inspired by a blog I read earlier this week. Kelly has a checklist of thirty things she would like to do by the time she’s 30. I’ve decided to make my own list (I have seven months left in my 20’s), which I will post later this week. Any suggestions for the list?

What are you smiling about this week?

  1. Your breakfasts always look so fresh, colorful, and amazing, but I cannot stray from my traditional breakfast of Kashi GoLean with almondmilk, walnuts, and fresh strawberries and blueberries. I am so attached to my morning bowls of cereal that no matter how awesome that tomato and avocado sandwich tastes, I would probably still eat my bowl of cereal afterward. 🙂

  2. My roommate has part of that quote as a tattoo and I’ve always loved it! I love your list of the simple things that have brought you happiness. Nothing extraordinary, yet uplifting little things in life! Being back in my apartment, cooking yummy food, and laughing with my roommates has made me happy this week!
