Bananas and Almonds

The other day my smoothie experiment turned out deeeeelicious. Here’s what I did:

Place 1/4 cup of rolled oats in the blender. Blend into a powder. Add the following ingredients:

  • one frozen banana
  • one cup unsweetened almond milk
  • two tablespoons almond butter (organic & unsalted)
  • pinch of cinnamon
  • pinch of nutmeg
  • dash of vanilla

Blend and enjoy!

Creamy and more filling than the average smoothie.

What should I blend up next?

  1. I’ve added cooked oats before too and it makes it incredibly thick and so satisfying! I also love kind of strange smoothie combinations… avocado, tahini, spinach, tea…. not all together of course.

  2. Mmm, I love the addition of cinnamon and nutmeg!
This weekend I concocted a smoothie out of vanilla Chobani yogurt, plain almondmilk, frozen banana, frozen strawberry, baby spinach, and a glob of dark chocolate peanut butter. That final ingredient was the key to awesomeness.

  3. Thanks for the ideas. Chocolate peanutbutter sounds awesome!
