Pretzels & Puppies

I’m thrilled that next Saturday I start my first official (yoga) teaching gig. I’ll lead separate classes for kids and adults at a seasonal campground in New Jersey. In order to prepare I picked up these really cool yoga cards at the bookstore.

The bright and cheerful cards are organized into nine categories. The authors came up with creative kid-friendly games, meditation techniques and easy ways to get into poses.

So cute: each type of breath is named after an animal

Who doesn’t want to hop into a warrior pose or a twist after looking at these?

Each card is a little lesson. There are 50 cards, so the possibilities are endless! A fellow blogger suggested laying out the cards and letting the kids pick which poses they would like to try. What a great idea. I’d love to hear any success stories about teaching yoga to children.

And just for fun: Sophie

I can’t resist puppy snuggles but I’m not ready to commit to my own furry friend, so for now I borrow Sophie whenever I get the chance. Isn’t  she precious?
